French Gold Antique 1900 Mantel Clock

Maidens and roosters adorn this mantle clock with an opulent burnished gold dore finish, signed by its Paris maker about 1900.
An excellent runner, the brass movement strikes the hour and half on a silvery toned bell. This precision timepiece must be level to run, we can explain how to adjust the movement by turning it in the case.
Even the backside is richly embossed because typical fireplace mantels in France have mirrors behind, so the back is also visible in the mirror.
The hand painted porcelain dial has a worn hand painted inscription, "Jourdan, Rue Grosso (?), Paris."
Dimensions of this palatial antique are 10" wide, 6" deep and 15" tall.
