Hand-carved of walnut about 1930, this grand curio, china cabinet or back bar has great storage.
This antique furniture was crafted for the ante-room before the main dining room of a palazzo, the scene for reception and "antipasto" or appetizers before the main late evening dinner in the larger dining room.
The original warm brown finish is excellent with beautiful patina, brass hardware and working locks are also original.
Stunning artistry is shown in the Rococco shell crest and deeply carved and raised panels. Drawers have hand cut dovetails and upper shelves adjust on wooden supports. Side panels are raised, even back legs have detailed carving.
Leaded windows with individual shaped panes of stained glass provide a nice display area, we see no damage.
The distinctive design and very fine master craftsmanship originate around wealthy Milan in northern Italy, formerly the Grand Duchy of Piedmont.
This heroic antique furniture disassembles into two pieces for easier moving. Dimensions are 82" wide, 26" deep, 100" tall and the base is 43" high.
