Made for a Wisconsin furniture store about 1900, this solid quarter sawn roll top desk has raised panels all around. The deep finish is in excellent condition, enhancing boldly figured natural grain.
Lower deep drawers have original carved pulls and dovetailed joints. There is a file drawer and two pull out work shelves. The "S" shaped roll glides smoothly and has a working lock. Inside are pencil and letter holders, tiny pen drawers and cubicles and drawers of various sizes. Both ends have a mail slot on this superior quality American made antique office or library furniture.
Measurements are 50' wide, 32" deep, 50 1/2" tall, the desktop is 30" high and the kneehole is 19" wide and about 27" high.
