All original, this country pine wardrobe or armoire from about 1850 is characteristic of the Pennsylvania Dutch or Amish tradition.
The original red-brown finish is very well preserved with just enough crazing or crackling for a little character. Entirely hand made, carved pine clothes hooks swing on arms inside. There is a tiny locking drawer for valuables above the doors set into the crown.
Hand planing and square hand cut nailheads are visible everywhere on this charming antique, which is sophisticated in a rural folk sort of way. The interior is empty as built, the hooks could be used or a closet pole or shelves could be installed as desired.
Measurements are 53" wide, 19" deep and 78" tall, the interior is 14 1/2" deep.
