The finest spinning chairside bookcase we have ever seen dates from about 1895 and has drawers and a locking compartment. Signed "Maple and Co., Ltd., London & Paris," this antique is all original.
Mahogany is expertly inlaid with satinwood, rosewood and ebony banding, the top is matched flame grain. The finish is very fine with warm patina and a few mars at the edges and shrinkage separations for character. Brass hardware and removable porcelain wheels are all intact.
Tiny drawers have hand cut dovetails. Measurements of this exquisite furniture from England are 21" square and 34 1/2" tall.
