This spectacular hand-carved hall or dining table has a green marble top and hand carved base. Walnut with a hand-carved frieze around the top, the gleaming finish is excellent.
Quality is superlative in every way - the gorgeously grained marble is excellent with tiny chips at the edges. There are carved capitals on the curved corner columns. Hand carving in burnished gold on the pedestal shows especially fine workmanship, with slight touchups, see photos.
Dating from the 1920's, dimensions of this antique furniture are 6' 7" long, 40" wide, and 32 1/2" tall, legroom is 27" high underneath. This table is taller than usual dining tables because it was used for "antipasto," or an appetizer buffet before dinner.
