French 1830 Antique Miniature Portrait on Bone, Bronze Frame, signed Lemax

A lovely French miniature portrait was hand painted on a thin slice of natural "bone" about 1830.

This exquisite work of art with lavish costume and delicate colors is signed, "Lemax(?)." There are two cracks in the painting, see photos.

The original genuine gilt bronze frame has a ribbon and floral swag and beaded rim. Some wear and discoloration are as shown. The blown glass lens has a ground rim and small scratches.

Measurements are 4" across, 1/2" deep and 4 3/4" tall.
